STEMWORKS is designed as a local-first application. Your multitrack audio files, jam session data, and timeline edits are processed entirely on your machine. We do not upload your recordings to our servers or use them for cloud AI training.
To help improve the software and debug issues, STEMWORKS offers an opt-in remote issue reporting feature (powered by Sentry). By default, this is disabled.
If you choose to enable issue reporting, the app will securely transmit:
Even when enabled, our reporting tools are configured to actively scrub absolute file paths, usernames, and session titles. We never collect or transmit raw audio data or exported tracks.
STEMWORKS downloads periodic application updates from Cloudflare R2 and GitHub Pages. These requests involve standard web logging (such as IP addresses and request timestamps) on the server side to deliver the files to you.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or other applicable laws regarding any personal data we may hold. Because STEMWORKS is local-first, we only possess data if you contact us directly via email or if you opt-in to crash reporting. You have the right to request access to, correction, or deletion of any such personal information by contacting us.
